After Disney and Sony’s spat over Spiderman and the recent announcement that Spiderman is leaving the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), things have turned around.
It’s been confirmed that Spiderman will actually remain in the MCU, much to the comfort of fans.
Kevin Feige said: “I’m thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue and I, and all of us at Marvel Studios, are very excited that we get to keep working on it.”
“Spiderman is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse, you never know what surprises the future might hold.”
Amy Pascal, who produced Tom Holland’s first two Spiderman movies will also produce the next one, set to premiere 16th July 2021.
Spiderman: Far From Home is Sony’s highest grossing film of all time, and fans were actually threatening to boycott Spiderman until he’s allowed back into the MCU. It’s no surprise he’s been allowed back in!
