The new Maleficent: Mistress of Evil movie will be making its way to theatres on October 18. To ramp up the excitement, Disney has unveiled a striking black and white video of leading lady, Angeline Jolie, being transformed into the iconic villain.

Going “behind the horns”, the time lapse video shows us a mesmerising transformation, focusing on how those insane cheekbones are created, in addition to the infamous horns. The short clip finishes with Angelina inserting Maleficent’s fangs before her lipstick brightly shines in red.

Disney also released some beautiful black and white photos which also capture elements of the transformation.

The official movie synopsis reads, “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil stars Angelina Jolie, Michelle Pfeiffer, Elle Fanning, Harris Dickinson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, Lesley Manville, Robert Lindsay, Ed Skrein, Jenn Murray, Kae Alexander, Fernanda Diniz, David Gyasi, and Sam Riley.
