If you haven’t heard of the D23 Expo, where have you been? It’s the biggest Disney convention around and shares all the latest info on upcoming films, parks, and news along with exclusive shows and panels.

Disney+ is fast approaching and we learnt so much at D23 Expo about the service and everything coming soon! There’s new shows, new films, new info, and even the return of old shows!

The Mandalorian

Star Wars and Avengers come together to create The Mandalorian. It’s set after the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First Order. The Mandalorian comes to Disney+ on 12th November.

The Lady and the Tramp

A lot of old-school Disney films have been given a live-action remake recently, and Lady and the Tramp is next. The dogs used in the film are rescue dogs – one of the dogs even found their forever home through the film. The Lady and the Tramp comes to Disney+ on 12th November.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

This will not be a reboot or sequel to High School Musical, but a docu-style show which follows a new wave of characters at East High School, where they’re performing their own version of High School Musical. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series comes to Disney+ on 12th November.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

In a new series for National Geographic, we get to see into the mind of Jeff Goldblum himself! The World According to Jeff Goldblum comes to Disney+ on 12th November.

Anna Kendrick and Billy Eichner star in new holiday film, Noelle. Anna Kendrick said: “I’ve always wanted to be in a Christmas movie. My family and I have movies that we watch every year… The idea that I have the opportunity to be in a movie that families watch together this Christmas, and it becomes part of their tradition and they have favourite scenes and can’t wait to put it on is just amazing and I was so happy to have the opportunity.” Noelle comes to Disney+ on 12th November.

Former castmates of high school musicals (not the Disney kind!) come together in a new series to let them recreate their last performance at high school. It will celebrate not only the theatre but real people and bring back many memories. Encore comes to Disney+ 12th November.

Yes, you read that right, LIZZIE MCGUIRE IS COMING BACK. Lizzie will still be played by Hilary Duff as she has grown up – older, wiser, and better than ever! She’s got her dream job, dream guy, and dream apartment. 30-year-old Lizzie is still dealing with the 13-year-old, animated Lizzie in her head – the icon of the show.

Diary of a Female President

This follows a 12-year-old girl’s journey through life and middle school as she sets the way to becoming president of the United States. It sounds quite similar to Princess Diaries if you ask me. Diary of a Female President is coming to Disney+ in January.

This is based on the bestselling, young adult novel by Jerry Spinelli. Starring Grace VanderWaal and Graham Verchere, it is a coming-of-age story.

Monsters at Work

Vision and Wanda Maximoff play two super-powered beings trying to live ideal suburban lives. Feige describes it as half classic sitcom and half epic MCU adventure. Actors Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen made a surprise appearance at the Expo, joined by Kat Dennings and Randall Park, who will reprise their roles from Thor and Antman and the Wasp.

Tom Hiddleston returns in 2021 to play your favourite villain, Loki, in a series set after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

We still don’t have an official release date for the UK, which we were hoping for from D23, so we’ll just have to wait, but it’s released in the US on 12th November.

Keep an eye out for more D23 catch-ups, such as ‘everything we learnt about parks‘, ‘everything we learnt about Star Wars‘, and ‘everything we learnt about Marvel‘.
