Disney+ will be launching in the US in November and among the new content, there will be a TV series adaptation of Love, Simon.

It has been revealed that Michael Cimino (Annabelle Comes Home, Training Day), will be taking on the lead role of Victor. According to Variety, he is described as “a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.”

Other cast members include Ana Ortiz (Victor’s mum Isabel), James Martinez (Victor’s “guy’s guy” father), Isabella Ferreira (Pilar, Victor’s sullen younger sister), Mateo Fernandez (Adrian, Victor’s little brother), Johnny Sequoyah (Mia, Victor’s friend), Bebe Wood (Lake, Mia’s best friend), George Sear (Benji, Victor’s classmate), Anthony Turpel (Felix, Victor’s neighbor) and Mason Gooding (Andrew, Creekwood’s basketball-loving jock).

Nick Robinson, who starred as Simon in the original movie, will be narrating the series and also serves as producer. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who wrote the film, will executive produce the series along with Brian Tanen, Jason Ensler, Isaac Klausner, Marty Bowen, Adam Fishbach, Wyck Godfrey, and Pouya Shahbazian. Amy York Rubin will direct the first episode with her creative partner Pilar Boehm co-executive producing. Adam Londy will also co-executive produce, in addition to 20th Century Fox Television.
