Season 17 of American Idol is currently in full swing, and last night’s live show (April 21) was dedicated to everything Disney.
The top 10 performed tracks spanning a wide variety of films including Toy Story, Pocahontas and Moana, whilst judge Katy Perry herself got into the swing of things by dressing up as Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Katy and her fellow judges Lionel Ritchie and Luke Bryan got to work by performing ‘Heigh Ho’ from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, whilst last year’s top two Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson delivered a performance of ‘A Whole New World’ from Aladdin.
Glee star Lea Michele also joined the top 10 for a stunning performance of The Little Mermaid’s ‘Part of Your World’, in celebration of the movie’s 30th anniversary. Later this year there will be a live production of the film at The Hollywood Bowl, with Lea taking on the role of Ariel.
