There are so many Disney films out there, and many more to come, but there’s always popular, not so popular, and nearly forgotten about films. You’ve probably watched all the Disney films over and over, but there’s always a few we’re guilty of forgetting. We’ve compiled a list with links for you to re-watch those Golden Oldies.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971)

An absolute classic set in 1940’s Britain. 3 evacuees are sent to the countryside to live with apprentice witch Miss Price and go on a wild adventure on a magical travelling bed. They go back to London to find a spell which could end the war, taking them to an island run by animals in an attempt to cast it.

Song of the South (1946)

Uncle Remus draws upon his tales of Brer Rabbit to help little Johnny deal with his confusion over his parents’ separation as well as his new life on the plantation. In a mix of live action and animation, he tells the tales of The Briar Patch, The Tar Baby and Brer Rabbit’s Laughing place. This is also where the song Zip-a-dee-doo-dah first appeared alongside a range of other songs.

Basil the Great Mouse Detective (1986)

In Victorian England, a little mouse girl’s toymaker father is abducted by a peg-legged bat. She enlists the aid of Basil of Baker Street, the rodent world’s answer to Sherlock Holmes. The case expands as Basil uncovers the crime’s link to a plot against the Crown itself.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad (1949)

Disney brings animated versions of 2 literary works to the screen here. The first is ‘The Adventures of Mr Toad’, based on the characters of Kenneth Grahame’s ‘The Wind in the Willows’. The second is based on Washington Irving’s masterpiece ‘The Headless Horseman’, in which schoolteacher Ichabod Crane, smitten with Katrina Van Tassel, attends a party hosted by her father. When Ichabod rides home through Sleepy Hollow late at night, he finds himself confronted by the Headless Horseman who wants Ichabod’s head for himself.

Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier (1955)

Although Disneyland Paris has a hotel dedicated to Davy Crockett, the film seems to get forgotten about. Legends from the life of famed American frontiersman Davy Crockett are depicted in this feature film. Crockett and his friend George Russell fight in the Creek Indian War. Then Crockett is elected to Congress and brings his rough-hewn ways to the House of Representatives. Finally, Crockett and Russell journey to Texas and partake in the last stand at the Alamo.
